Audi develops, manufacture, and sell cars and they posted a large market share gain in the US in 2009.

This sales decline was a decrease of 5.4% compared to the year 2008 and the operating profit was down 42.1%. Audi profit before taxes was 39.3% and the profit after taxes was $2.2 million. Return on investment was 19.8% so the company did perform extremely well in 2009.

 Audi Best Selling ModelAccording to an Associated Press report dated January 5, 2010, Audi’s best selling model was the A4 and the company sold 3,555 in December 2009. Audi sold a total of 37,070 A4 models in 2009. The Audi TDI models Q7 and A3 sales were much better than the company expected and the company sold a total of 82,716 cars in the US in 2009. In 2009, Audi sold only 699 of the R8 model which is a less popular model.
